Consultation reporting - delayed
Since the end of November, the Sussex Nature Recovery team have been working through the responses to the public consultation.
Given the volume of comments received across the two consultations: one covering East Sussex and Brighton & Hove, and the other West Sussex, our original intention to publish a Consultation Report for each area in February is likely to slip.
Though the process to review all the comments is taking longer than anticipated, the feedback doesn't suggest any significant changes to the strategies. Amends are likely to involve minor wording and Local Habitat Map changes and the addition of an Executive Summary. The reports will cover these changes and will also respond to comments concerning the next phase of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy, such as its delivery and implementation.
What happens next?
After the consultation report has been shared, and amends to the draft LNRS documents and Local Habitat Map made, the updated Local Nature Recovery Strategies need to be signed off by the Supporting Authorities - a process which takes 28-days. Once this step is complete, both Local Nature Recovery Strategies covering Sussex will be published.
